These Manipuri coasters, made from Serpentinite rock, come from the Longpi area in Manipur. No chemicals or machines are used to make this art. Longpi Hamlei as black pottery is traditionally called, was once only used by rich and dignified noble families of Manipur. Cooking pots, stout kettles, quaint bowls, mugs and nut trays often with a lacing of fine cane is fashioned by the Tangkhul Naga tribe.
Price quoted here is for a single coaster.
