This is a miniature version of 'Bamba' traditional copper water heater with stand.  The artist has created this miniature boiler as a faithful creation of the vintage, antique, original boiler. A collector's piece for those who value those unique creations of things from a past era.  The water heaters were used by the family to heat drinking water. The bamba typically comprises of two compartments — one to burn coal or cow-dung as the source of heat and the other section for the water to be heated. This one would be a beautiful piece on your coffee table or on your fireplace or curio shelf in your home.

These miniature versions of kitchen utensils and other household items were played with by children as they watched their mothers cook and their family members make use of every day household items. Today, these miniature utensils give us an idea of what life was like in rural  households.

Tambat Ali is a small settlement of metalworking artisans. These artisans migrated to Pune in the 17th century under the royal patronage of the Peshwas. Over 800 of them. They beat on copper and made artillery, royal seals, utensils and more. For more than three centuries.
