The panchaloha dancing form of Shiva as Lord Nataraja is surrounded by a fiery arch. The dwarf, Apasmara, that Shiva is dancing upon represents ignorance. While dancing his cosmic dance of destruction Shiva is destroying ignorance in the world. Shiva holds a drum and fire in his hands. His right leg is held up in the most recognizable posture of all the Hindu Gods; Lord Nataraja!
This Nataraja is a hand made panchaloha (a term for traditional five-metal alloys) sculpture cast by the artists of South India using the lost wax process, a skill passed on for generations since the Chola period.
Price is for a 12” sculpture, please email us for prices of other specific sizes. Email us for prices of larger sizes.
