In our country, a 'Chourang' is present in every house owing to its religious significance. However, a dearth in the market for contemporary designs, and the overwhelming presence of the Rajasthani enameled chaurangs led to the ‘Navagraha chourang’.
Subtly emphasizing the religious significance through design, nine circles are embedded within the surface signifying the nine grahas. The carving patterns and the form of the legs that support the surface further enhance this circular geometry; thus creating a product that is unique and contemporary.
With this traditional and spiritual Chourang give your puja room an attractive look. Celebrate every traditional ritual at home with this intricately designed pooja stool.
Navagraha chourang is handcrafted by the Vishwakarma Sutar community in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.
Cashmere wood (Shivan) and Rosewood (sheesham). Sheesham wood is brownish in colour and has rich grain patterns. It is strong, heavy and highly durable. It is also known for its density and strength. It is stronger than teak and also affordable.
