As we know, the topographical surroundings of Konkan region are immensely attractive, one of the main features of its topography being ‘the sea’. The Step Platter is a representation of this feature in wood.
A platter also being a serveware (where a variety of items are offered), varied levels have been incorporated to segregate these items.
This platter is handcrafted by the Vishwakarma Sutar community and women in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.
Materials to be used:
Shivan (Cashmere) wood
Dimension: 35.6 cm x 20 cm x 2.4 cm Or 14 inches x 8 inches x 0.71 inches
HFA Trust & LUPIN Human Welfare & Research Foundation work together to revive the crafts of Sindhudurg District by creating new products and processes and expand the base of artisans by getting many youth and women (200+) to learn new skills and create livelihoods from the craft.
