Wooden Rolling Board and Wooden Rolling Pin or Roller (Wooden Chakla and Belan) is used to make chapatis. Handmade from Jackfruit wood which is light-weight and can be easily handled. Also, it will not slip while working on it.
This rolling pin and board are handcrafted by the Vishwakarma Sutar community and women in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.
Jackfruit wood : the golden-yellow timber with good grains is used for building furniture and household items. It is termite-proof and is superior to Teak.
